What this site does
Landing Dutchman is a flight search and comparison site. Searches, fare cards and route links open our flight search at flights.landingdutchman.com, a White Label site run by our affiliate partner Travelpayouts (Aviasales), with our partner ID 790687. We do not sell tickets and we don't run ads or email signups on this site.
What we store and send
- Your choices, in your browser only —
localStoragekeys:ld_cookie_consent(accepted/rejected),ld_cur(currency for search),ld_origin(the airport you picked for deals) andld_lang(whether you chose or dismissed the Hungarian version). They never leave your device. - Place suggestions in the search box — when you type a destination, our own server asks the Travelpayouts place-name service (
autocomplete.travelpayouts.com) for matching cities and airports. Only the text you typed and the page language are forwarded; your IP address, cookies and browser details are not passed on. - Fares — the prices on our pages come from a file on our own server (
/data/deals.json), refreshed every four hours from the Travelpayouts Data API. Loading them sends nothing to a third party. - Server logs — like most websites, our hosting may record standard technical logs (IP address, browser, URL, time) for security and troubleshooting. We don't use them for marketing.
- Visit counting — we count visits with self-hosted, cookieless Umami analytics on our own server (
stats.landingdutchman.com). It stores no cookies and no IP addresses, and nothing is shared with third parties. Because it sets nothing on your device, it runs whether or not you accept cookies. - Placement labels in partner links — links to our flight search carry our partner ID plus a short label for the place on the page you clicked (for example
790687.rt_budlonfor the Budapest–London guide), so Travelpayouts can tell us which parts of the site work. The label describes the link, not you.
Cookies and consent
The cookie bar gives you a real choice:
- Accept — we load the Travelpayouts affiliate script (from
emrld.ltd), which helps attribute bookings to us, and we ask Travelpayouts (travelpayouts.com/whereami) for a guess of your nearest airport, which sends them your IP address. Travelpayouts processes this data under its own privacy policy. - Reject, or no choice yet — neither of these loads. Our pages make no requests to third parties; the departure airport is guessed from your browser's language settings instead.

Our flight search (White Label)
When you open a search, you leave this site for flights.landingdutchman.com. That site is operated by Travelpayouts / Aviasales on our subdomain and has its own cookie notice and privacy terms. Bookings, payments and tickets are handled by the airline or travel agency you choose, under their own privacy policies.
Affiliate commissions
If you book through our links or search, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It doesn't change the price you are offered.
Your rights (GDPR / EEA & UK)
You may have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to complain to your local supervisory authority (in Hungary, the NAIH). We hold almost nothing about you beyond hosting logs; email adrian@patrascano.com with any request.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
We will update this page before adding email signups, new partners or anything else that changes how your data is handled.
